Using the folder dashboard

The dashboard is designed to provide quick and easy access to the main folder features. The folder dashboard displays in Edit mode which you can switch to by clicking Edit folder in the main banner while in the content area.

You must be logged on with the appropriate folder access privileges.

Choose the navigation bar on which to base the contents of the new navigation bar.

Add Item

Displays the Item Wizard so you can add an item to this folder.

Create Folder

Displays the Folder Manager Wizard so you can create a folder.

Folder Properties

Displays the Folder Manager, from which you can define or edit the folder properties.

Style

Displays the Style Manager, from which you can apply another style to the folder, edit the style properties, or create a new style.

Administration

Displays the main Administration page, from which you can access the various administration tools.

View folder

Reverts from Edit mode to View mode.

Edit folder

Reverts from View mode to Edit mode.

Field-level Help

Displays field-level help for the page you are currently viewing. This icon is typically displayed on the configuration page's sub-banner

Task Help

Displays the task-oriented help system, which provides step-by-step instructions for completing all content area tasks as well as tasks performed on pages and applications.

Property Sheet

Displays a window that provides information about the folder or item's properties.

Add folder to interest list

Adds the folder to the user's interest list.

Note: Folders added to the interest list are accessible from the Favorites portlet.

Notes

  • To use the Folder Manager, you must be either a folder owner or have the appropriate folder privileges.

  • Dashboards are also available on the category and perspective pages.

  • When viewing an item in the folder area, note that item attributes such as Author, Description, Expiration Date, Image, New Item Indicator, and so on are displayed in the folder area only if they were chosen to display.
