Applying a style to a folder

The style applied to the folder area governs the display of the items. A newly-created folder has the same style or appearance as the parent folder. However, if you want a different appearance for a folder, you can apply another style to it.

You must be logged on as the style administrator, folder owner, or authorized user with the Edit Style privilege.

To apply a style to a specific folder:

  1. In the Navigator, click the Content Areas tab.

  2. Navigate to Path: Content Areas > Name of Content Area > Folders.

Note: If you do not see the folder that you want to work with, this means that you have not been granted the appropriate folder access privileges (Edit Style). See your content area administrator to request folder access.

  1. In the Actions column, click Edit next to the folder you want to work with to display the Folder Manager.

  2. Click the Style tab.

  3. In the Current Style section, choose the style you want to assign to this folder. The Select Style list displays out-of-the-box styles and styles created by the style administrator(s) that are available to all users of the content area (Make Public).

Note: Authorized users can also create a new style to apply to this folder in the New Style section.

  1. Click Apply to save your settings and continue working.

  2. After all other changes are made, click OK. You may need to click your browser's Reload button to refresh your page. The style is changed.

Notes

  • You can apply a different style to each folder. However, every folder must use the same content area page. For more information, see Choosing a default page style.

  • Be careful when changing the style applied to the folder since any changes affect the appearance of all other folders and navigation bars using that style.
