Using the perspectives dashboard

The perspective dashboard is designed to provide quick and easy access to the main perspective features. Use this page to add an item belonging to this perspective, add a perspective, edit the perspective properties, and see all items belonging to this perspective.

To display a perspective page, just click a perspective icon in the folder area, and a list of items belonging to this perspective is displayed.

The perspective dashboard is displayed while in Edit mode which you can switch to by clicking Edit folder in the main banner while in the content area.

Title banner icons

Click to display the Perspective page in View mode or toggle to display the Perspective page in Edit mode.

Perspective dashboard icons

Click to display the Item Wizard which lets you add an item that belongs to this perspective.

Click to display the Perspective Manager Wizard which lets you create a new sub-perspective (child).

Click to display the Perspective Manager tabs (Main and Image).

Click to display the current folder's Administration page.

Displays field-level help for the page you are currently viewing.

Item icons

Click this icon which is located on each folder banner to add an item into this folder.

Click to display the Item Manager which lets you edit the desired item.

Click to expire this item.

Click to remove this item from the folder.

Click to add a sub-item (belongs to the parent item).

Click to move the item to another folder.

Indicates that this is a newly-created item.

Note: The content area administrator determines how many days displays for a new item. See Changing the New and Updated icon display period.

Indicates recently updated items.

Note: The content area administrator determines how many days displays. See Changing the New and Updated icon display period.

Click to display the item's property sheet which provides information about the item's required and optional properties including the path alias.

Note

When viewing an item in the folder area, note that item attributes such as Author, Description, Expiration Date, Image, New Item Indicator, and so on are displayed in the folder area only if they were chosen to display. For more information, see Choosing item attributes to display in a folder region.
