Editing navigation bars

You edit an existing navigation bar to change its properties. Not all of the available properties are set when you create a navigation bar. Typically, you will want to edit your navigation bar after creating it to specify the rest of the available properties. Note: When changes are made either to navigation bar portlets on the page or navigation bars in the content area, Oracle Portal automatically replaces the cached version with a newly-cached version. For example, if you change the style of your navigation bar, the new style is immediately reflected when the page is next accessed by a user.
	To edit a navigation bar, you must be the navigation bar owner, a Portal administrator, or a user with have Manage privileges on the content area.

To edit a navigation bar's properties:

Click to access the Navigator and then click Content Areas to go to the Content Area Navigator. Note: You can also get to the Content Area Navigator from the content area Administration page. Click Contents next to the content area that contains the navigation bar that you want to edit. If the list of content areas is very long, use Find to go directly to the desired content area. Note: If your navigation bar is shared across multiple content areas, click Contents next to Shared Objects. You must be a portal administrator or have Manage privileges to edit shared objects. Click Navigation Bars. If the list of navigation bars is very long, use Find to go directly to the desired navigation bar. Click Edit next to the navigation bar that you want to edit. Edit the navigation bar as desired and, when you are done, click OK.

To edit a navigation bar's elements:

Follow the first four steps from the previous procedure. Click Elements. Click to add a new element, which launches the Add Element Wizard. Click to edit an element. Click to delete an element. Click to move the element above the previous element.
