Choosing a style for a navigation bar

To define the appearance of your navigation bar, you must assign it a style. The style defines such characteristics as the fonts and colors used for links and labels on that navigation bar, and the width of the navigation bar.

You must be a content area administrator or the owner of the navigation bar to choose a style for it.

To choose a style for a navigation bar:

  1. Click to access the Navigator and then click Content Areas to go to the Content Area Navigator.

Note: You can also get to the Content Area Navigator from the content area Administration page.

  2. Click Contents next to the content area which contains the navigation bar. If the list of content areas is very long, use Find to go directly to the desired content area.

  3. Click Navigation Bars.

  4. Click Edit next to the navigation bar you want to edit. If the list of navigation bars is very long, use Find to go directly to the desired navigation bar.

  5. Click Style.

    • To edit the currently selected style, click the link under Edit Style. Note that you must have the appropriate privileges to edit a style.

    • To choose a different style to edit, click Select Style, choose the desired style from the list, click Apply, and then click the link under Edit Style.

    • To create a new style, fill out the properties under Create Style and click Create. The style you create will be automatically selected as the current style for the navigation bar.

  6. Click OK.
