If you are a user...
Only authorized users with the appropriate
folder access privileges can view a folder. If you are a user and
cannot view a folder that you know exists in the content
area, you probably don't have the appropriate folder access
privileges. You can request folder access privileges from the folder
owner or content area administrator.
If you are a folder owner...
Folder owners are responsible for folder security which can be set at
various levels depending on the level of security required. For example:
-
If the content in the folder is targeted to a broad audience and does
not contain confidential information, you can choose to display
the folder to public users. This would authorize all users,
including public users who are not logged on to the portal to view
the contents of the folder.
-
If the content in the folder is targeted at a specific group,
department, line of business (LOB), or set of users, you can choose
to grant folder access to specific users and groups.
-
If you want to restrict access to certain items in the folder, you
may want to enable item level security.
This allows item creators to choose which specific users and/or
groups can access a specific item.
-
If you can't view a sub-folder, the sub-folder may not be chosen to
display in the folder area. For more information, see Choosing
sub-folder links to display. The sub-folder must appear below
the Displayed Sub-folders list. |
