Removing folder banners

Oracle Portal enables you to display region banners or group by banners in the folder area.

If you would like to remove all banners, such as main banner, category, or personal folder banners from the folder, you can do this by suppressing the banner height. The result is a list of items displayed without any banners in the folder area.

You must be logged on as the style administrator or creator of the style to perform this task.

Be careful when changing the style applied to the folder since any changes affect the appearance of all other folders and navigation bars using that style.

To remove banners from displaying in the folder area:

Note: If you are already in the folder in which you want to work with, click Folder Style on the folder dashboard and continue from step 4.

  1. In the Navigator, click the Content Areas tab.

  2. Navigate to Path: Content Areas > Styles.

  3. In the Actions column, click Edit next to the style you want to work with to display the Style Manager.

  4. Click the Properties tab.

  5. In the Style Element list, choose the style element that you want to change. In this case, you can choose to change the height and alignment for these style elements: Main Banner, Sub-banner, Region Banner, Group By Banner.

  6. In the Banner Height field, enter the '0' (in pixels).

  7. Click Apply.

  8. Repeat this process for each banner you want to remove.

  9. Click OK.

Note

  • If you don't see a banner, for example, a category banner, you can reset the page banner height to display banners. Typically, you should set the banner height approximately 20-25% greater than the text size you have chosen. See Changing the height and alignment of banners.
