Displaying banners

Oracle Portal enables you to display region banners or group by banners in the folder area.

You must be logged on as the style administrator or creator of the style to perform this task.

Be careful when changing the style applied to the folder since any changes affect the appearance of all other folders and navigation bars using that style.

To display region banners or group by banners:

Note: If you are already in the folder in which you want to work with, click Folder Style on the folder dashboard and continue from step 4.

  1. In the Navigator, click the Content Areas tab.

  2. Navigate to Path: Content Areas > Name of Content Area > Styles.

  3. In the Actions column, click Edit next to the style you want to work with to display the Style Manager.

  4. Click the Folder Layout tab.

  5. Click beside any region in the region layout diagram to edit its properties, including the default region names (i.e. Quickpicks, News, Regular items, etc.).

The Edit Region page is displayed.

  1. In the Folder Region Properties section, select Display Region Banner. Region banners appear at the top of each region on the page.

  2. In the Region Content Properties section, select Display Group By Banner. Group by banners appear above each group of items in a region. For example, items can be grouped by category, author, provider, and so on.

  3. Click Apply.

  4. Click OK.

When you display your folder area the next time, items are displayed below the region or group by banners in the folder area.
