Moving a folder

Oracle Portal makes it very easy for you to move a folder to another folder in a single operation.

You must be a content area administrator or higher, folder owner, or have the appropriate folder privileges on both the folder you are moving from and the folder you are moving to.

To move a folder:

Note: If you are already in the folder area containing the folder you want to move, switch to Edit mode and click the move tool next to the folder link. For more information, see Editing a folder.

  1. In the Navigator, click the Content Areas tab.

  2. Navigate to Path: Content Areas > Name of Content Area > Folders.

  1. In the Actions column, click Move next to the folder you want to move. The Move Folder page appears.

Note: If you do not see the folder that you want to work with, this means that you have not been granted the appropriate folder access privileges. See your content area administrator to request folder access.

  1. Locate the destination folder you want to move this folder into and click the Move Here link.

The folder is moved to the destination folder.

Note: Click tfoldp.gif to open the folder, or click tfoldom.gif to close the folder.

Note

  • The content area can contain any number of folder levels which you can locate by moving down the hierarchical structure in the Navigator. However, its best to keep the number of levels to a minimum for easier access.
