Cascading all folder privileges

Cascading all folder privileges is very useful if you have chosen a list of users and groups in a folder and you want to easily apply the exact same list of users and groups to the sub-folders.
	You must be logged on as a folder owner or an authorized user with the appropriate folder privileges.

To cascade all folder privileges:

Note: If you are already in the Folder Manager that you want to work with, skip to step 4. In the Navigator, click the Content Areas tab. Navigate to Path: Content Areas > Name of Content Area > Folders. In the Actions column, click Edit next to the folder you want to work with to display the Folder Manager. Note: If you do not see the folder that you want to work with, this means that you have not been granted the appropriate folder access privileges. See your content area administrator to request folder access. Click the Access tab. In the Cascade Privileges section, you can choose either options to cascade folder privileges: Add Privileges To All Sub-Folders Adds this folder's access privileges to sub-folders for which you have access. Existing sub-folder access privileges are maintained. Overwrite Privileges On All Sub-Folders Replaces all sub-folder access privileges with this folder's access privileges. Click Cascade Privileges. Click OK.

Folder privileges configured on this tab are applied only to folders for which you have the appropriate privileges. Thus, these privileges are not applied on folders that you do not own or manage. All existing privileges on the parent folder are automatically applied to the sub-folders when this option is selected. If a user has different or conflicting privileges on a parent folder and a sub-folder, the privilege on the parent folder overwrites the privilege on the sub-folder. For example, if the user has Own privileges on the parent folder, and the View privileges on a sub-folder, cascade overwrites View with the Own privilege. Thus, the user will have Own privileges on all sub-folders.
