Displaying links for perspectives

To make perspectives more easily accessible, you can display a link to a perspective with every item that is contained in that perspective. The link can be the title of the perspective or an image. When an item belonging to a perspective appears in a list (e.g., in a list of items in a folder), the title or image of the perspective will appear as a link next to the item. To make the link appear, you must modify the style.

You must be a content area, style, or Oracle Portal administrator to modify a style.

To display perspective links:

  1. Click to access the Navigator and then click Content Areas to go to the Content Area Navigator.

Note: You can also get to the Content Area Navigator from the content area Administration page.

  2. Click Contents next to the name of the content area that contains the style you wish to modify. If the list of content areas is very long, use Find to go directly to the desired content area.

Note: If your style is shared across content areas, click Contents next to Shared Objects rather than a particular content area. Only portal administrators and users with content area management privileges can modify shared objects.

  3. Click Styles.

  4. Click Edit next to the desired style. If the list of styles is very long, use Find to go directly to the desired style.

  5. Click Folder Layout.

  6. Click next to Regular Items under Region Properties. A separate window is opened up where you can edit the properties for items.

  7. Click Perspectives in the Available Attributes list. If Perspectives is already in the Displayed Attributes list, you will not see it in Available Attributes.

  8. Click .

  9. Click Apply.

  10. If desired, repeat steps 6 through 9 for Quickpicks, Announcements, and News.
