Displaying images for perspectives

When perspectives are displayed in lists (e.g., in a list of items in a folder), you can have an image appear for the perspective rather than text.

You must be a content area or Oracle Portal administrator to modify a perspective.

To display an image for your perspective:

  1. Click to access the Navigator and then click Content Areas to go to the Content Area Navigator.

Note: You can also get to the Content Area Navigator from the content area Administration page.

  2. Click Contents next to the name of the content area that contains the perspective. If the list of content areas is very long, use Find to go directly to the desired content area.

Note: If your perspective is shared across content areas, click Contents next to Shared Objects rather than a particular content area. Only portal administrators and users with content area management privileges can modify shared objects.

  3. Click Perspectives. If the list of perspectives is very long, use Find to go directly to the desired perspective.

  4. If you are editing a child perspective, click Sub-Perspectives next to the parent perspective until you see the child perspective that you want to edit.

  5. Click Edit next to the desired perspective.

  6. Select Display Icon With Item.

  7. Click Image.

  8. Enter an image name in Banner Icon. This image will appear as a link next to items that are assigned to the perspective (e.g., in a search hit list).
