Oracle Portal enables you to implement security for your portal in
many ways. Here are just a few:
-
Create different pages for different groups, so that each group sees
only the portlets they are allowed or need to see.
-
Because each portlet provider is represented by a subfolder, you can
use the folder's Access tab to control which
users may see the folder in the portlet repository. You can also apply
security at the portlet level by editing the portlet in the
portlet repository.
-
Within the same page, create tabs upon which to place portlets of a
sensitive nature. You can control access to each tab within a page
individually (using the Advanced Options tab), so that the tabs
become visible only if a user has the proper authorization.
-
Create a separate page for each portlet you want to protect, so that
each page contains only a single portlet. Expose each page as a
portlet (by checking the Publish As Portlet box on the Access tab).
Use the Access tab to specify who may see each page. Treat each page
as an individual portlet, adding it to other pages as you would
normally. Because each page/portlet has its own security settings,
each is displayed only when a user has the proper authorization. |
