Listing category contents

To display all of the content that is currently associated with a category, users simply access the category by any one of several methods.

To list the contents of a category from the navigation bar:

  1. If your navigation bar contains a list of categories (e.g., a drop-down list or links), you can choose one of the listed categories to browse its contents.

    Note: If you have the appropriate privileges, you can modify a navigation bar to include a category list. If you do not have the necessary privileges, you have to request that your administrator include categories in your navigation bar.

To list the contents of a category from a folder:

  1. Go to a folder that contains items belonging to the category that you want to list. You can access folders through the Content Area Navigator

    Note: Click to access the Navigator and then click Content Areas to get to the Content Area Navigator.

  2. Click the name of any category that appears above the items in the folder that belong to that category.

To search the contents of a category from advanced search:

  1. Go to the advanced search page.

    Note: The navigation bar may contain a link to advanced search, but, if it does not, click Go next to the basic search field without any search criteria specified. An error page will appear that includes a link to advanced search.

  2. In the Search For field, enter the string for which you want to search.

  3. In Restrict To, choose the category to which you want to limit your search.

  4. Click Submit.

To list a category from from search results:

  1. Each item in the hit list of a search contains a link to the category to which the item belongs. Click the category name to browse the contents of the category.
