Choosing the item types available in a content area

You can control the types of items that users can add to a content area. For example, you might want to include your own custom item types. You can also reorder item types to establish the order in which items are displayed for the content area.

You must be the content area administrator, the portal administrator, or have Manage privileges on All Content Areas to choose the item types that are available in a content area.

To choose the item types available in a content area:

  1. In the Navigator, click the Content Areas tab.

  2. Navigate to the root path.

  3. In the row for your content area, click Edit Properties.

  4. Click the Objects tab.

  5. In the Hidden Item Types list under Item Types, choose the item types that you want users to be able to add to the content area.

Note: You can choose more than one item type in the Hidden Item Types list. For example on Microsoft Windows, press Ctrl or Shift and choose multiple item types.

  6. Click to move the chosen item types to the Visible Item Types list.

  7. In the Visible Item Types list, choose the item types that you do not want users to be able to add to the content area.

Note: You can choose more than one item type in the Visible Item Types list. For example on Microsoft Windows, press Ctrl or Shift and choose multiple item types.
