Setting the system default page style

If you are the portal administrator, you are responsible for selecting a page style to serve as the system default.

The system default page style is used as a last resort when a page creator selects <Use User's Default Style> for a page. Default styles work like this for pages with <Use User's Default Style> specified:

  • If you've chosen a personal default style, that style is used.

  • If you do not choose a default style, but you belong to a default group for which a default style has been chosen, that style is used.

  • If you do not choose a default style and you do not belong to a default group, or no default style has been set for your group, the system default style is used.

You must be the portal administrator to set the system default page style.

To set the system default page style:

  1. On Oracle Portal's Home Page, click the Administer tab.

  2. In the Services portlet, click Global Settings.

  3. Under Default Style, select a default page style from the list.

  4. Click OK to return to the Administer tab.
